I’m hoping that Adidas will catch wind of Han-Alexander (http://hanthelion.tumblr.com/) soon, because she needs to start getting paid for her advertisements! Even though she wears a lot of men’s clothes, I get the sense that her goal is not to appear androgynous. To me, Hans Alexander is not concerned with presenting any particular gender, but instead embraces the fluidity in gender by pairing boyish clothes with long hair and switching between more masculine and feminine poses. Her innocent expressions make her somewhat boyish presentation cute rather than threatening to the eye of a misogynist. Of course, it’s also always helpful to be so conventionally beautiful when you’re fighting against cultural stigmas of masculine presenting women.
