A blogger named Katherine decided to do a photoshoot in her brother’s clothes. Isn’t she adorable? Aren’t these color and pattern combinations incredibly badass? I mean who would ever think of wearing a denim jacket over a blue oxford. She’s making me consider wearing things I would never consider wearing.
I also love how many Indie and non-US brands I’m learned about from her. She’s got brands from Tokyo, Melbourne, Copenhagen, the UK… (Although, I did NOT realize Navajo appropriation was also a thing in Japan). I agree that cute sports bras are a good way to go if you want to not feel like you’re popping out of your menswear. A while ago we got some answers from readers about where they find cute sportsbras. Here’s what they said:

Mandy says: Things I love, pt. 1: high-waisted shorts. I personally don’t wear them, but I love/appreciate them sososo much. One thing I love about these shorts is their versatility. They’re casual, but you can also dress them up. They also show off your legs. As I’ve mentioned, I love legs.
Most of my friends rock high-waisted shorts with crop tops, crop tanks, front-tied button downs, etc. If you don’t mind, I would suggest emphasizing your waist to give your body some curves. My friends look super great in every type of shoe—heels, sandals, Nike’s, Converse’s, boots and flats. I don’t think one shoe is better or worse than the other; just wear something you’ll feel confident/sexy/hot/awesome in.
You could also go quasi-profesh, and pair the shorts with a little boy’s shirt, a blazer, oxfords, and some dangly necklaces. Or a chunky watch. Have fun!

I rarely post pictures taken in the mirror with camera phones, but when I came across Laura’s beautifully composed shot I liked it so much that I sought her out. The shoes, the posture, the hair, the swag. She’s got a black and white outfit with just a few touches of red, leaving room for us to take in her messy long-haired bleached tips faux hawk.

Natalie (http://nattyice123.tumblr.com/) is Ashley’s friend in Arkansas and she’s pretty much got down the essence of the joy of being a kid. In these pictures, she appears to have extended her youth into her college years, sporting hobbies such as riding her bike down the creek and wandering around the fields with her friends. She imitates the styles of boys her age (19) and younger with skate boarding shoes, t-shirts, and snapbacks; which to me is reminiscent of the simpler times in life. Times that I personally feel - and perhaps Natalie feels similarly - that I missed out on because I was too busy struggling with my sexual identity. It only makes sense that we long to get those years back now and recreate that innocence we didn’t get to enjoy.
