San Francisco

I went to San Francisco last weekend, and got to enjoy the sunny weather. The only problem is that it spoiled me because now it’s freezing and raining in Boston.

Kenneth Cole Keeps Me Androgynous

I feel like this outfit is the kind of thing Miss Hootie Baby would wear with heals and turn femme. Wow, she’s been coming up a lot lately! I mean, it’s only natural; she brings Chic to an entire state.

Heading to Work

If you dress this well, the women in your workplace won’t be able to stop gazing over your stylish physique. But be careful - office romance can get tricky. If you prefer to avoid the drama of an interoffice affair, match your outfit with a stare so intimidating that those who are fawning over you will be too shy to approach. Lucky for me, I freelance and don’t have an office, so I don’t have to worry about shaking off the ladies.

A Day For Lounging

Let’s face it: we all have those days where we want to lie on the plush red couch our brother left at our house and just lounge. Whether your girl of choice will be stopping by or not, it’s a good idea to look the part. And what better way to do that than with comfy slippers and a ridiculously soft shirt that you bought in West Hollywood? Reading a book that kills brain cells is also good, although I don’t recommend this one. The cover exceeds the content.

Get Ahead on Fall Fashion

It’s never too early to start thinking about the fall fashions for the coming season, and what better way that with a little help from H&M, and my friend Chad who gave me the scarf. Oscar Wilde once said that the first step toward adulthood was a “well tied tie.” Well, for me, I think the first step toward adulthood (or at least the part where I make an effort) is a well-knotted scarf. That’s not to say that Wilde was wrong, but consider a well knotted scarf the fall-time equivalent of the Victorian dandy.

I Can’t Sing, But I Can Dress the Part

In the opera world, there’s a term to describe female singers portraying the parts of younger male characters. The term is “pants role.” The best part about these roles is that the young male characters are most often trying to seduce or impress much older women, and in most cases, get their way. So for all you cougars out there, here’s my take on an opera tradition of Cherubinic proportions. Would Mozart be proud?
