Introducing Queer Models by Qwear: Coming August 5!

We at Qwear are releasing lgbtqmodels.com, the world’s first queer model database! The site will officially launch on August 5th.

Running Qwear for 8 years, we heard from talented queer models all over the world wishing for more work. We’ve worked with queer models and as queer models and we’ve witnessed the same stories over and over about discrimination; a lot of agencies won’t sign us, and to make matters worse, our community is often targeted and banned on Instagram.

By creating this database, we are connecting queer models (and models-to-be!) with hundreds of casting directors seeking the next new face in fashion.

By joining this platform for $57 per year (or $6 a month) you get your own custom profile and exposure to hundreds of casting directors.

We also want to help the queer modeling agencies in existence who are doing the important work of expanding opportunities for queer people in the modeling industry. Agencies will get a discount of 15% off when they list 5 models or more. We want to help you grow your business and get exposure for your talent. To learn more, email us at info@lgbtqmodels.com

Starting August 5th we will be accepting 25 applications before we close the first round. If you are accepted, you won’t get charged a fee until your profile is up. Those who applied and didn’t make the cut will be reconsidered for the next round. If we do not except your application, we will explain why and what you need to improve. You can always reapply.

The primary thing we will look for is strong photos. Here is a list of photographers around the world who want to volunteer and empower the queer community. If you’ve never modeled before, find a photographer in your area and give it a try! Your time is now to be seen.

The platform encourages brands to provide payment, though it is not required. We have modeled before and we know that it’s hard work, and takes talent, and you deserve to be paid. Models of all abilities, ethnicities, sizes, and ages, are encouraged to apply.

Models, let us help you get your face out because you deserve to be seen. Casting directors, get ready for an influx of new talent, because the queer community has waited a long time and it’s now our time to shine!
